Product Overview & Application Area
The SPSR 600 stratified buffer tank from Schönberg Heiztechnik is designed for storing and stratifying heating water in closed heating systems. With a net capacity of 551 liters, the tank supports the hydraulic integration of heat generators, heating circuits, and control technology.
The SPSR version features a lower heat exchanger and is therefore suitable for system concepts in which additional heat sources such as solar thermal systems or system-side heat transfer are to be integrated. The tank is not intended as a standalone domestic hot water appliance.
Technology & Equipment
The SPSR 600 is designed as a stratified tank with a lower heat exchanger. The stratification supports an orderly temperature distribution in the tank and facilitates the usable supply of heating water within the system.
For hydraulic integration, charging and discharging connections, sensor and controller connections, as well as a vent are available. In addition, connections for electric heating elements are provided at the tank center and tank bottom.
Everyday Benefits
The tank supports more uniform system operation by storing generated heat and releasing it to the heating circuits as needed. This allows heat generators, the solar circuit, and the heating circuit to be combined hydraulically in a sensible way.
The available insulation variants allow for a system- and space-related selection. Depending on the chosen insulation, EPS and EPS-Vacuum-Plus versions with different energy efficiency classes and standby heat losses are available.
System Integration & Compatibility
The SPSR 600 can be integrated into closed heating systems with a heat generator, heating circuits, solar circuit, control system, and optional electric backup heating. The specific hydraulic design is tailored to the respective system concept.
The lower heat exchanger can be used for integrating solar thermal energy or another system-side heat source. The safety group, expansion vessel, control system, valves, and electrical components must be planned appropriately on the system side.

Installation
Installation, hydraulic integration, electrical connection of optional heating elements, and commissioning must be carried out by qualified professionals. Before integration, the storage tank size, safety group, expansion vessel, heat generator, solar circuit, and control system must be coordinated with the system concept.
Electric heating elements are mounted on the designated connection stubs and separately protected according to the respective manufacturer's specifications. The system must be depressurized, cooled down, and secured against unintentional restart before any work on the storage tank.
Notes
The SPSR 600 is intended for heating water in closed heating systems and does not replace a domestic hot water tank. The permissible operating pressure and permissible operating temperature must not be exceeded.
The safety valve, expansion vessel and venting must be provided and kept functional in accordance with the system. The vacuum panels of the 150 mm insulation must not be damaged, drilled, cut or bent.
