Description

Differential pressure overflow valve — adjustable with scale

Technical data

Maximum operating pressure: 10 bar. Average temperature range: 0–100 °C. Maximum glycol content: 30%. Medium: Water and glycol solutions.

function

The differential pressure bypass valve ensures controlled return of flow rates in systems with fluctuating consumer states. It limits the differential pressure generated by the pump and returns excess volume proportionally to the number of closed consumers.

Especially in systems with heat pumps or speed-controlled circulation pumps, the valve ensures the required minimum flow rate necessary for the correct operation of the machine and to prevent malfunctions and overheating.

Adjustability and operation

The stepless adjustment via the visible scale allows for precise adaptation to the calculated pressure conditions of the system. During commissioning, the setting should be made based on the pump characteristic curve and the desired differential pressure limit.

Fine-tuning during operation allows for optimization of system behavior under changing loads; log settings for later control measurements.

Advantages

Protection of the pump and control components through limiting the maximum differential pressure, reduced noise levels, and a longer system lifespan. More stable hydraulic conditions improve control behavior and efficiency.

Assembly and maintenance instructions

The valve should be installed in a suitable position in the return line, accessible for inspection and adjustment. A strainer upstream of the valve increases operational reliability and reduces wear.

Regular visual and functional inspections, as well as checks of the glycol content and seals, are recommended. Appropriate protective measures must be taken in case of frost.

Application areas

Suitable for heating, cooling, and heat pump systems with variable flow rates. Particularly useful in systems with multiple consumers, actuators, or speed-controlled pumps to ensure minimum flow and pressure limitation.
